Simon Smallwood

Simon Smallwood qualified at Guy’s Hospital in 1989, where he initially worked as a house surgeon.

He then moved to Holt in Norfolk where he worked in general practice until 1996.
During this time he completed  a post graduate degree in Prosthetic surgery also at London university.

From 1996 until 2001 he worked in Oxford and Fleet providing a specialized service to patients requiring more complex prosthetic and restorative dental treatment. During this time he spent one day a week teaching on the undergraduate dental course at London univercity.

Simon has a particular interest in Prosthetic dentistry( dentures) and dental implants which are used to solve the problem of missing teeth. In 1997 he completed a year long Implantology course at the Eastman Dental Institute in London, and has been providing implants in practice since then.

Simon is a member of the BDA, The Association of British Implantology and the British Society for the study of Prosthetic Dentistry.

He is a regular attendee at the Newbury Dental Study group, the Thames Valley study group and both the Oxford and the Wessex implant study groups.

By attending these meetings he ensures that he keeps up to date with all new aspects and current trends within modern dentistry.

Anu Chadha

Anu Chadha also qualified from Guy’s Hospital. She was educated at Kendrick  school in Reading, and now lives in Langley.

After qualifying in London, she initially worked as a house officer in the Oral and Maxillofacial, restorative and Paediatric departments at Cardiff Dental Hospital. She then completed her vocational training and worked for the community dental service and thereafter in general practice.

In 2004 Anu completed the MDFS Diploma and subsequently was appointed as a member of the Royal College of surgeons in Edinburgh.

Later that year, she began the one year full-time masters programme in Prosthetic Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Institute in London. She passed this with distinction and now teaches Prosthetics to dental undergraduate students at the London Hospital, Whitechapel.

Anu is also an examiner for the International Qualifying Exam. This is the qualification which is required to be taken by all overseas students who wish to practice dentistry in the UK.

Anu began working at Church Lane Dental Practice in 2005. She currently works on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Her particular interests are in dentures and treating anxious/elderly patients as well as children.

She is a member of the BDA and the British Society for the study of Prosthetic Dentistry. She regularly attends lectures, dental conferences and meetings in order to keep up with the newer aspects of dentistry.
